I Need Help On My Test About Genes!!?
Posted by adminif u can help me plz leave ur email so i culd email u plz, there r wayyyyyyy to much 4 me 2 post.
heres 1:
There is an autosomal gene that controls baldness, and its expression is sex influenced,so that the gene for baldness(B) is dominant in males but recessive in females. In females, the allele B1 for nonbaldness is dominant over the gene for baldness. If a heterozygous nonbald woman married a nonbald man,wat will be the appearance of their children?what are the possibilities for each sex.

So the factor of baldness is sex-linked. The woman will have
XB1 and Xb1 the nonbald man would have Xb Yb.
I then made a punnett square and found that all the children would be non-bald yet approximately 1 half would be carriers for that trait and only the males would be carriers.

Do you know how to do a punnett square? If so, try using b (lowercase) instead of B1, that’s just confusing.
Example:
Nonbald woman – Bb
Nonbald man – bb
Then multiply Bb x bb in a punnett square.
