Pcos Information?

Posted by admin

My period have always been normal before birth control pills. I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for 3 1/2 years and in May stopped. My husband and I wanted to try and have a baby. I didn’t have a period for six months so finally my doctor put me on Provera to get my period started, which it did. I started on November 17th. They doctor’s office called yesterday and said that my blood work came back and I have PCOS. She said I could try myself for a few months or we could come in and talk about our options. She said she could put me on Clomid to ovulate. I do not have any of the symptoms to PCOS. I’m not overweight, don’t have high blood pressure, or high chelestrol, do not have male baldness or facial hair, I do get a pimple every once in awhile, but who doesn’t. I’m just stressed and don’t know what to do. I just cried last night because I never dreamed I would have to go through this. We just want a healthy baby.

Any type of doctor familiar with PCOS might make the diagnosis, but the disorder is complicated and may be best treated by a specialist. Make an appointment ASAP with a reproductive endocrinologist. Just because you have PCOS does not mean you can not have a healthy baby. There are many different types of symptoms of PCOS and you don’t need to have them all.

Dont worry , its not a big problem. Many people who have Pcos conceive healthy babies. But there is a chance of miscarriage. I too have Pcos and trying for a baby. Last 4 months my periods are very regular because of Metformin I am taking since 1 year. Before that my periods were so unpredictable. Sometimes i had period for more than a month and then I didnt have it for like 2-3 months.
Then my doctor gave me provera to induce the period and put me on chlomid . I took 3 rounds of chlomid but could not conceive. My husband recently done semen analysis so his morphology was not good. So its very very diffcult for me to conceive naturally.
But still I hope that I may conceive.

I would go in to see your doctor just to get a better understanding of whats going on with your body. You might want to have a ultrasound done so that you can see if you have cyst or not. Just go and ask all the questions you want.
