Male Baldness Info

We just adopted two kittens last week; they are 8 weeks old. They’ve been dewormed, had their first round of shots (second to follow in the first week of July), were treated for an upper respiratory infection, supplemented with Lysine paste, and are otherwise very healthy, active furballs.
Last night, I noticed a dry, crusty, flaky patch (bald) on the orange male’s front elbow area; kind of on the outside of what would be his “armpit”. It looks like a rough callous almost. He shows no other signs of irritation/baldness/dry skin elsewhere.
We’re planning to take them both to the vet soon, but are wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences. I know ringworm is usually found on the face/head/ear area, and doesn’t usually get flaky/crusty until it’s advanced. Mange is another possibility, but again – it’s very isolated.
Is it safe for us to try a human anti-fungal cream (Monistat, Lamisil) to see how the flaky patch responds?
FYI – they are indoor cats.

Lately, I’ve noticed that every time I see a boy or young man (with a shaved head) and even occasionally a very grown man,… Getting “Slapped up the Side of the Head” By a parent, mom or dad, a girlfriend, and even a wife. These boys/men, instantly turn a shade of Pink or Red, unless they got a good tan – in which case they turn a shade of Purple. First perhaps out of embarassment and also from anger, at being deciplined in such a way.
It may not have been a good idea to Shave their heads, because, your hair gave those slaps a kind of padding that before you only felt it.
But now, especially with little boys and Teen boys, getting slapped in public by their parents – You can hear the Slap from accross the mall or the store you are in.
Once I was in line for the check-out and heard a slap that made me jump and looked behind me, this poor guy got slapped behind the head by his mom and then his dad, he turned beet red, then his girlfriend or Sister I suppose. Poor Guy -
