Male Baldness Info

I am balding at the age of 16 and my hair has been very thin since the age of 14. My hair line has remained, but my hair is so thin it is running my life.
If the dermatologist says that I do have male pattern baldness, what should I ask her?
for example is there anything i can take at my age?
It is not fair, why did this have to happen to me

But this stuff is expensive ($70/month for propecia and not sure about the rogaine). No guarantees that it will work. What do I do? Do I take the pills and use the foam? Or do I just let nature run its course?
Knock on wood, not yet losing hair on the back of my head or the center of my head. Just at the temples.
