Are The Following Health Issue And Its Side Affects Something That Should Hold Me Back From Marrying Someone?

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

I have dated this woman for over 18 months. We are at the age where we would like to get married and both feel there is no point dating any longer if we are not. One key issue holding me back from proposing is that she has Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. The side affects of PSOC are many but include weight gain in the waist area (apple shape), male pattern baldness or thinness of hair, hair growth on the face, chest and legs, and various fertility issues.
There are other things holding me back. But the side affects of PSOC (when I think about or notice them) are important in that they physically turn me off and make me unattracted to her. I believe that I either must accept these side affects which supposedly get worse over time or if I cannot, let the relationship go for her sake and for mine.
When giving your opinion, you should also know that there are many great things about our relationship and when I don’t notice or think about these side affects, I find her attractive in many ways.

One key issue holding me back from proposing is that she has Polycycstic Ovary Syndrome. The side affects of PSOC are many but include weight gain in the waist area (apple shape), male pattern baldness on the scalp, hair growth on the face and legs and various fertility issues.
There are other things holding me back. But the side affects of PSOC turn me off and make me unattracted to her when I think or notice them.
I would like to accept these side affects which supposedly get worse over time but am having a difficult time doing so.
