Male Baldness Info

I’m 21yrs. old african american male w/ a full head of hair. I have small areas on each side of my head close to my ear were the hair there is thinner than the rest of my head. Similar to when a guy gets a taper hair cut except I don’t get those. It’s not bad like I’m going bald but I would like it to grow evenly w/ the rest of my hair. There’s no known baldness among parents, relatives or anything. Any products I can try to make my hair thicker or fuller?

Anyways, I’m 17 years old (male) and my hair is thinning in the front (the bangs, which go down to my eyebrows). The bangs aren’t full, and you can see parts of my forehead through them, but they’re not THAT bad. I don’t think it’s a receding hairline, because my hair line is still strong and hasn’t moved. My dad is bald, but his hair was completely different than mine (mine is curly and thick, his was thin and straight.
My hair is thick everywhere else. I’ve been using Head & Shoulder’s for about 2 years now, and I’ve never conditioned my hair, which I just learned was bad. I also blow dry it pretty much every day. Is this why my hair in front is damaged? I heard that H&S can be damaging to hair.
If I started using moisturizing shampoo and conditioner everyday, do you think that it will become thick again? Or is this pattern baldness? If not, should I cut it short and let it grow out again?
