Weights have nothing to do with speeding up hair loss.
Chances are probable that you are inheriting the trait from your Mother's side, even though your uncles and cousins do not show the baldness.
You can consult a dermatologist to be sure. I do understand the uncomfortable feeling of losing hair at a young age.

Weight lifting has nothing to do with it. It could still be genetic. Look at your grandparents, both grandpa and grandma, to see if they have thinning hair. The fact that your family shows the usual signs of male pattern baldness and your thinning hair is starting on the crown of your head is a bit curious. Check your family history. Baldness can skip generations. Then check with a doctor to see if there could be any medical reason for the hair loss. This condition is unusual for someone your age. I started with the usual male pattern baldness at 18 and had no hair on the top of my head by the time I was 21. Both my father and his father became bald. My mother showed signs of thinning hair in her late 70's. So I got it from both sides. If need be there is Rogaine. Only once you start with it you have to continue with it or the hair loss will start up again. I wish you the best.
